Physical Description
Cream cotton fragment where drawn thread work has been used to create a grid of signatures within a series of small squares and rectangles. Each shape contains one set of initials or a small motif (bee, foliage and flowers). Insertions of bobbin lace divide groups of squares/rectangles and there is an 8cm crochet lace border. Stitches include buttonhole, satin, chain and stem. Dated 1899 in stem stitch. Signatures are worked with white cotton thread.
