Physical Description
White cotton cloth with an embroidered map of Australia containing lists of names of servicemen with their ranks. Crossed flag motifs are worked above and below the map. Other text includes "Fallen Heroes Sept 21st 1918; Norton Summit, Ashton, Basket Range, Cherryville and the word 'Day'". Red, blue and beige cotton thread and beige silk thread have been used. Stitches include cable chain, chain, stem, back and satin. Some names are followed by orders or decorations eg MM Military Medal, DCM Distinguished Conduct Medal. AMC may be Australian Medical Corp. Unable to identify the significance of R.
