Physical Description
Tract sampler worked predominantly with religious tracts. Stitched primarily in reds, blues, and greens with some yellow and white cotton thread. Two cross stitched combined upper- and lower-case alphabets with no 'J', but with what looks like a 'U' following the 'V', two sets of numerals 1 to 9, several bands of small repeat patterns, including an arcaded band with strawberries and a band of Greek key design. There are single rows of stitching between each line of text and two rows of crowns or coronets. Signed Elizabeth Bayles and dated 173? as she ran out of space for the final numeral of the year.
