Physical Description
Cream linen supper cloth with large Battenburg lace motifs worked in each corner and extending along each side and there are fine cutwork motifs within the scallops created by the corner motifs. The stylised floral braid lace motifs include the use of couronnes (crowns or rings) and fillings of detached buttonhole and herringbone stitch. Cutwork motifs are worked in satin and buttonhole stitch with cream cotton thread. A fine cream cord has been used for the braid lace fillings.
