Physical Description

Ecru handwoven cotton sash with embroidery at each end. There is a large motif at each end, comprising a central stylised pink flower encircled by sprays of small blue and cream flowers. A narrow satin stitched coppery metallic band with brown silk worked each side is at the extreme ends of the towel. Stitching is reversible. Metallic thread has also been used in the large motif to make stems and highlight the dominant flower. Turkish double darning stitch has been used extensively. Some satin stitch.
