Partly worked sampler stamped on natural linen worked with multicoloured silk thread. George V coronation sampler with lettering "SEND HIM VICTORIOUS HAPPY AND GLORIOUS. LONG TO REIGN OVER US. GOD SAVE THE KING." In a lozenge below this lettering "Worked by Mahala Howard 1911". A scrolling acorn and oakleaf border. Motifs include depictions of King George and Queen Mary, the coronation crown, three trees, a rose and thistle, shamrock and 2 doves bearing a branch.
