Physical Description
Miniature lettering, alphabet or marking sampler with three alphabets with ampersands and a set of numerals from 1 to 15. Initials 'CB * EB * FB * MB * CB * TB'. Signed ‘E Bolland 1828’. All the letters are stitched in upper-case. Eight rows of small repeat patterns separate the bands of lettering. A small green repeat pattern border frames the whole. Two small diamond motifs flank the date. Cross stitched with multicoloured cotton thread on evenweave natural linen. An ivory? pincushion has been stitched to the backing board. Private Collection
