Physical Description
Pair of Yao (White Trouser) legging ties. Densely embroidered, plain, handwoven dark indigo dyed cotton fabric strips with tasselled cords attached at each end. The red tassels are decorated with gray Job's Tears beads and pale and dark blue glass beads. Orange silk floss has been used to densely stitch diagonal lines over most of the fabric strip. Three black and white star shaped designs in long, flat stitches have been worked over the orange ground. Orange, and white silk thread used in the flat stitch embroidery which emulates Algerian Eye Stitch, at each end of the strip.
