Physical Description
White Miao woman's headwear or turban, being one of three pieces which are worn simultaneously. There is a wider end which goes around the head first. This is made up of commercial fabrics, layered and appliquéd and has a 2.5 cm wide embroidered border in red, blue and white. The middle section is mostly black commercial fabric with some floral pieces joined in. The third section consists of four panels embroidered predominantly in pink and green geometric designs. There is reverse appliqué on two panels and some applied scattered flower-shaped sequins. Cross, satin, and running stitches have been used. There is a pink commercial tassel at the narrow end with blue, red and black glass beads.Silk thread.
