Physical Description

Fragment from a cream cotton wedding sash, being the whole of one end. The end is covered with alternate rows of repeated motifs of water ewers and trees of life. Multitcoloured silk thread and some metallic thread has been used. Stitches include buttonhole, four-sided, double running and satin. The edges of the embroidered end are stepped and finished with buttonhole stitch.
