Physical Description

Blue and black cotton apron with collar covered with appliquéd motifs of bats and other traditional Dong embroidery designs. A heavily worked small square of miniature cathedral window patchwork has been attached at each corner in the centre of the bib. A traditional appliqué design has been applied around the collar. Blue, pink, white and red cotton threads and fabric have been used. Stitches include chain stitch, buttonhole stitch and loop stitch. Very narrow bands of pale blue, red and cream fabric have been layered to form a border around the bib's appliquéd motifs.
