Physical Description
World War II souvenir mat. Chain stitch with surface stitchery. Two applied motifs - one of crossed flags, the other butterfly and flowers within a chain stitch border inscribed 'Australian Engineers'. Purple satin ground fabric with coloured silk embroidery and white silk fringe.
