Physical Description

A pair of man's braces. The straps have been embroidered in silk tent stitch and continental stitch with a design of flowers in colours. The dark red single canvas ground appears to be woven from a thread which has a linen or cotton core wrapped in silk. There is a linen interlining and a backing of twill weave cotton. Tabs on either end of each strap are of the same twill weave cotton. There are leather tabs which are buttoned to the trousers at the back and buckled to the braces straps.
