Physical Description

A square cloth of natural coloured, hand-woven linen made from two loom widths. The seam down the centre of the cloth joins two selvedge edges with faggoting. There is a large central motif and four corner motifs linked with garlands. The floral motifs are embroidered in satin stitch in vivid colours. Inside the hem is a band of needleweaving also worked in bright colours.
