Physical Description
A traditional Kente cloth, woven by Ashanti tribesmen in Ghana. Made from 22 handwoven strips, each a little over 9cm in width, which have been stitched together. The strips are woven in blue, red, yellow, green and white and black rayon and, although all are similar in pattern they are arranged so that the design blocks above the deep border are off-set, giving a checkerboard effect.
