Physical Description
An Afghan tent hanging ( yuruk yastik) consisting of three solid panels and four panels of squares joined at the point, some surrounded with folded fabric triangular points. Four of these squares have surface embroidery. The central panel is of larger squares surrounded by triangles of cross stitch. Two panels are patchwork. All panels are surrounded by bands of red fabric, a red triangle hangs below the central panel. A variety of fabrics, some ikat silks, have been used in the panel. Possibly Turkman tribal work.
