Physical Description
A short Chinese jacket. Fabric is black silk with lining of pale blue silk damask. Threads - silk, metal threads, gold and silver (gold thread said to be pure gold - information from previous owner Mr Ukhoff). Stitches - satin, couching, pattern darning Patterns - bands of 20cm of embroidery 12 circular motifs dragon, cut and applied to body of jacket (motifs, woven background) 2 circular motifs or prunus blossom cut and applied to the shoulders Cuff of royal blue silk embroidered with flowers. Silver metal thread borders at top and bottom of cuff is couched with red silk woven braid.
