Physical Description
Handkerchief edging worked in natural coloured cotton thread in Armenian needle knotted lace. The edging is still attached to the backing on which it was worked. The backing consists of coloured glazed cotton over several layers of brown paper. There is a note on the back written in ink in French which states that the work was done by the 'Mauresques' who are a people in Southern France descended from people from North Africa.See also 195-051.
