Physical Description
White linen with red silk embroidery. The pattern is in reserve against a red ground which is a fine mesh formed by pulled work, worked over three threads. Details are added in double running stitch. There are traces of double running in red outlining the motifs in the top border. Two motifs, halfway up the left hand border, are outlined in green. The main design is of stylized flowers and leaves. There is a border all the way around and across the top of the main design - these are in two patterns. One is of peacocks and a tulip-like flower, the other is of animals.
