Physical Description
A square cover or hanging (chakla) from India. The black cotton ground is covered in embroidery predominantly in bright pink with some white, yellow, green and purple, leaving small voided areas of the ground fabric showing through. The stitches used are double darning, running and double running which make the piece reversible. A bright green woollen tassel with yellow head hangs from a loop of beads on each corner. Eight pieces of glass have been added shisha style after the embroidery has been worked.
