Physical Description

A piece of fine white muslin with white cotton tambour work. The design is in a flowing floral pattern with pulled work fillings. Two pieces have been joined vertically by hand, The piece has been lengthened by the addition of a strip of machine-made lace, a strip of muslin hand embroidered in a leaf pattern, a second strip of lace, a strip of plain muslin and a fringe. These pieces have been joined by machine. There is a 3cm hand-stitched hem at the top and a rolled hem on the left side. The tamboured muslin is an early piece and the other pieces a later addition.
