Physical Description
Two pieces of fabric joined near the centre. A panel of three roosters worked above the join. Pulled thread and surface stitches worked in mauves, blue, cream and metal thread with geometric border on sides below roosters. Hand-woven off-white fabric woven in self-coloured horizontal stripes.18 April 1996. Identified by Jennifer Weardon of the V & A as "Albanian, Bulgarian or Macedonian - because of the horizontal bands. Late 19th or early 20th century."
