Physical Description
Unfinished cream silk damask hanging embroidered in silk with a design of sweet peas in shades of mauve. In 1991, Guild Member, Jillien Goode, studied this embroidery and made the following observations: 1. The sweet peas are padded with a darker silk giving an added depth. 2. The stems have been whipped. The number of strands used in the whipping thread is reduced as they work towards the tip of the stem. 3. Pencil dots indicate where the stems were to go.
