Physical Description
The white cotton two-piece dress is extensively decorated with panels of Hungarian style cut and drawn work. The open work areas incorporate stylized flower motifs with satin stitch fillings. The bodice has wide embroidered panels centre back and centre front and from the neck to the cuff of the short sleeves. The skirt consists of an underskirt with an embroidered insert above the hem and a shorter over-skirt with a wide embroidered insert above the hem and another from waist to hem at the centre front finishing in a point. With the exception of the underskirt, all embroidered panels are bordered with a 2.5cm wide bobbin lace insertion which is also used above the hem of the cuffs.
