Physical Description

A Chinese embroidered black silk cape. The shape is unusual, consisting of two pieces each with four sides of unequal length which have been joined together along one short side. The design on each piece is of a bowl of flowers and ribbons with scattered motifs of flowers. A 6cm border all round is of cream silk fabric embroidered with landscapes and figures and three rows of gold coloured metal thread and satin stitch. There is a large, heavy tassel of gold and green silk over a wooden form in each corner.
