Physical Description
Cream linen cloth with coarse, cut and drawn (cutwork) inserts and with some needleweaving on 3 sides (9cm wide) and one side (1cm wide). Signatures are back stitched, satin, chain and stem stitched with red and white cotton thread. Wide (5cm) hemstitched border. Signatures are scattered over the entire central section of the cloth with a few worked on the outside hem. Names include Bessie Tapscott (born 1922), D. Tapscott and Lorna Polkinghorne.
