Physical Description

Fragment worked in red surface stitchery and embellished with metal and beads.Twisted cotton worked on a heavy dark ecru cotton ground. A large single decorative round motif surrounded by half circles with a border comprising bands of embroidery, beads, and metal. Stitches include Algerian eye stitch, satin stitch, chain stitch and couching. There is a small amount of metal thread embroidery and some spangles have been applied.
