Physical Description
A banner depicting a map of England, embroidered by the donor in grays and blue to show "The Traditional Counties of England". The map is surrounded by polychrome heraldic shields for each county. There is a numbered legend to identify the shields. The map is stitched in chain and back stitch, the shields are slips worked in tent stitch (petit point) and are outlined with couched thread. The legend and title are completed in tent and cross stitch. Cotton floss is used throughout.
