Physical Description

A long sleeved cream dress of heavy coarse woven cloth, linen or hemp, from Macedonia. Embroidered areas include collar, bodice opening, cuffs and hem. Techniques include tent stitch, chain stitch, buttonhole stitch and laid work. The embroidery thread used is highly twisted. The repeat geometric design is worked in mustard and red with some navy and green.
