Physical Description
Cotton bed curtain with wide borders and scattered floral motifs on a central ground. Border motifs are repeated and include stylised peacocks, stags, small animals and plant forms. Motifs are mainly worked with cotton thread in gold and beige tones with highlights in satin stitched gold thread. There is also a touch of blue thread. Stitches include cretan stitch, herringbone stitch and satin stitch. Possibly made in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.
