Physical Description
a & b: A pair of Chinese boy's boots with soles of stitched layers, probably paper. The boots' shapes suggest Manchu origin. The uppers are embroidered satin - mustard coloured along the leg and terracotta at the foot. Floral design is voided satin stitch in shades of red, blue and green on the leg and shades of blue on the foot. The boots are lined with indigo dyed cotton and bound at the top edge with black satin.
