Physical Description
Supper cloth - fine natural colour linen ground; square shaped with an edge of wide scallops finished with pyramids worjed in buttonhole stitch / needlelace. A circle design of fruit - cherries, apples, plums, pears and grapes - with cherry leaves and vine leaves, stitched in long and short stitch / needlepainting in silk using single strands. Dimension and shading created by many shades of each colour - red, pink, purple, yellow, green, brown. A border around the design in two parallel lines of stem stitch in single brown silk.
