Physical Description
Dao (Chinese minority people) long coat of indigo dyed, hand-woven cotton constructed of panels, each of approximately 35cm width. Open sides and front bound with red and white cotton. Lower back panel of 2 widths of fabric 60cm x 40cm. Heavily embroidered and attached to body of garment. Small panel between shoulder blades 12cm x 17cm. Neck and sleeve panels embroidered and attached. Embroidery is of traditional satin, straight and cross stitches in white, mustardy yellow silk(?). Extra embellishments of pink silk pompoms, beads and some tassels,
