Physical Description
Titled 'Frilled Neck Lizard'. Worked in metal thread embroidery and designed to be used as a sample for teaching. Threads in the design include smooth, rough and bright check purls in several colours. Techniques include brick stitch couching and laid purls. The lizard's body is worked in "chipping" over a padded base. The burgundy frill is composed of organza reinforced with bonded fibres. The background is black silk painted with metallic paints and the rocks are composed of heated and painted tyvek.
