A collection of student notes (a) Small booklet of grey/brown paper labelled 'Needlework Specimens - Mary Lancaster 8" Inside front cover 'Mary Lancaster absent 14 weeks', The book contains fourteen plain-sewing samplers each of which is dated. Dates range from February-November 1917 when Mary was a fourteen-year-old living at Kalangadoo. (b) Small black-covered note book. Some notes relate to garment pattern cutting - 1914 (Grade A) Practical Grade A etc. Also "The Art of Teaching" at the back is the draft of a letter to the Council of the Technical School, Mt. Gambier, reporting on 1923 classes. (c) Small exercise book marked 'Mary Lancaster Dressmaking, Kalangadoo" Series of lesson notes for dressmaking dated 1923-1924. A loose printed sheet from S.A.Education Department 'Annual examinations November-December 1923 - Dressmaking Grade II Theory'. (d) Exercise book (cover missing) 'Mary Lancaster, A111 Teachers; College, Kintore Avenue, Adelaide' Hygiene Notes' dated 1927-1928. (e) Black covered exercise book 'Mary Lancaster A111 Teacher's College, Kintore Avenue, Adelaide Domestic Notes" dated 1927. Also four loose sheets. (f) Three sheets of examinaton questions dated 1939, 1942, 1943. (g) Book 'Drafting and Dressmaking - a complete three year course in note form for Australian Students' by Claire Neylon, First published March 1943. (h) Education Department of South Australia - S.A.
