Physical Description
A bag from NE Thailand, known as a 'banana bag' because of its shape, made of 100% cotton hand woven and indigo dyed by local villagers. A decorated patch of reverse appliqué is applied to both sides. Colours of fawn, turquoise, navy and white. Unrelated strip of cross stitch embroidery is used as additional decoration. Pocket on one side of bag and zipped compartment on the other. Two bamboo handles may be used to carry the bag or the bag may be opend out and used as a back pack with the handles over each shoulder.
