Physical Description

A hood use to cover the head dress from the Akha people of Thailand. Hand-woven indigo dyed fabric decorated with rows of polychrome embroidery and appliqué in geometric patterns. Additional decoration is of small white buttons in groups of five. Edges are bound with commercial fabric and the whole has been hand stitched.
