Physical Description
Vietnamese round skullcap of indigo-dyed cotton. The crown is pieced from 6 triangular segments surrounded by a 3.5cm band. An embroidered band has been applied to the front, consisting of five squares richly embroidered in two alternating geometric patterns and surrounded at the top and sides by applied strips. This piece has been overdyed with indigo and may have come from an earlier garment. Stitches include counted work, couching, herringbone, and buttonhole. Colours are indigo and purple.
