Physical Description
Cap from Northern Nigeria from the Hausa ethnic group. A deep straight sided cap culminating in a slight peak, topped with a buttonholed disc. Strongly multicoloured with surface fabric completely covered in buttonhole stitch in a design of geometric shapes in bands separated by chain stitches. Needleweaving on top of cap. These caps are made and worn by men.
