Physical Description
Burmese temple hanging. Long calico panel embroidered with traditional puppet-play characters as well as monkeys, trees and plants. Pencil design filled in with large, loose herringbone stitch in terracotta, green and dark blue cotton thread. Figures appear to be in conflict with monkeys. Top and bottom border of elongated diamond pattern in herringbone stitch. At the right hand end is the worked 'RAMEJANO'. Bottom edge decorated with small tassel shapes.
