Physical Description
Fragment of Japanese Rozashi work. A style of Japanese embroidery worked on traditional silk gauze called 'Ro' which is covered with small holes. The design is created by weaving the silk thread through these holes. A formal design of stork and chrysanthemums worked in delicate shades of blue, apricot and greens with grey/silver and black and white. Sample of background pattern in left hand top corner. The piece is thought to be part of a kimono.
