Physical Description
Chinese child's hat in padded black velvet edged with bought ribbon braid. Raised crown with 17cm back flap. Crown decorated with two curved horns finished with beaded cord ending in tassels. Crown embroidered with floral design, satin stitched over a paper pattern on to a series of layered fabric. Two long tails in black, cerise and green. Whole hat is multicoloured. Known as a ‘wind hat’, it was designed for winter wear with padding and a long back flap to keep the child warm.
