Physical Description
Child's tunic top. The shoulders and the neckline are edged in buttonhole stitch and lines of surface stitchery radiating out to produce wide multicoloured decorative borders. A large repeat stylised corn plant motif is worked at regular intervals on the front of the tunic. Red, orange, purple, green and blue cotton is used for the embroidery on cream calico. Stitches include herringbone stitch, square chain and running stitch.
