Physical Description
Thai woman's jacket from the Akha people. Firmly woven home-spun cotton cloth dyed with indigo to a blue-black hue. The back is decorated with appliqué pattern in red and other colours outlined with couched thread of contrasting colour. Diamond and triangular shapes alternate with bright coloured embroidery. The back panel is outlined with Job's Tears seed beads. Stripes of coloured fabric applied to sleeves.
