Physical Description

A pink linen cloth with a 6cm hem with a drawn thread work border. In the centre is a 13cm X 14cm square with a 7.5cm unfinished drawn thread work border. The drawn thread work is in cream as are the signatures.

Theme and Purpose

Commemorative. Philps family and friends. The cloth is the Philps family cloth. Rev Abel Richard Philps was a very early Congregational Minister in South Australia and the cloth has many of the signatures of his descendants. Other family members include TA Philps, Mayor of Burnside for many years.
