Physical Description

Patchworked tunic comprised of a multitude of old and new panels and fragments, some embroidered. The bodice and shoulders are heavily embroidered with an allover geometric repeat design on a purple ground fabric. Flowers form the centre of each alternate square with the other containing four triangles worked in colours of red, orange, green and blue. Stitches include square chain, couching, herringbone, buttonhole, running, and straight. Rickrack, braid and sequins have been applied to what looks like the more modern panels. Black cotton tassels have been applied at the back and front bottom corners of the tunic.
