The embroidered band is red cotton with three large repeat motifs of stylised flowers with shisha mirror centres, surrounded on four sides by a narrow embroidered band with a geometric design and on three sides by a heavier arcaded band with repeat motifs of stylised foliage. Between the overall pattern and the red band are five triangular designs alternating with crosses, front and back. The blue lining is made up of various scraps of repurposed fabric. Herringbone, buttonhole, closed square chain and running stitch. Pattern darning, shisha work and couching. Cotton thread used for the embroidery and wool for the tassels.
