Physical Description

Panel of a bed tent, Kos, Dodecanese. It is slightly shaped - the top is 25cm wide the bottom 35cm the length 130cm. Embroidered in red and green silks on linen with linen. 4.5cm wide bobbin lace added down one side. There are six main motifs, with stylised birds, animals, swastikas, trees etc. in silk darning and down each side twenty cypress trees in cross stitch.
