Physical Description
Unbleached linen band sampler by "Margaret J Hutchison, Edmonstone School the 17 of March 1837". Bands include the alphabet, crown motifs, initials, sets of initials with strawberries, a deep band of a large flowering tree with two flowering plants is near the bottom and there is an arcaded strawberry border all round. Text is "Remember now thy Creator in the days Of thy youth for God shall bring every work Into judgment with every secret thing whether It be good or whether it be evil Ecclec 2" All worked in cross stitch using multicoloured cotton thread.
