Physical Description
a & b: Two embroidered Spanish hangings. Gold work with silk highlights on a red velvet ground. Techniques include couched metal thread work, basket weave stitch, or nué and long and short stitch. The silk highlights are in yellows, blues and greens. There are two roundels on each piece depicting male figures which are encircled by scrolling designs of foliage and mythological beasts.
